FAMILY RESOURCES

A little clarity.
A better game day.

Useful answers for new and returning BUSC families.

Good questions.

Which program should my player join?

Start with the program age ranges: Littles (4U–7U), Developmental / Recreational (8U–12U), Youth Academy (8U–10U), and Competitive (11U–19U). Where programs overlap, the club can help you choose the right fit. Age eligibility and placement must be confirmed for the season.

How do we register?

Use the BUSC PlayMetrics registration link. Sign in or create a family account, then review the programs available for your player. Registration offerings, fees, and deadlines are listed in the portal.

Where do I find practices and game times?

Check your team’s PlayMetrics schedule and messages for practices, matches, field assignments, and updates. The website’s club calendar is for club-wide dates.

Where do we play?

Visit Facilities for directions to Bushnell Park. Confirm the location and field for each session in your team’s schedule.

Where can I find my coach’s biography?

The Coaches & Staff page will list teams and head coaches, with a link to each coach’s biography as the club confirms assignments and provides bios.

What happens when weather affects a session?

Play can be delayed or canceled for lightning, dangerous rain, or field conditions that require a stop. Your coach communicates individual team cancellations, and BUSC posts club-wide field closures on Facebook. Check your team’s PlayMetrics messages and the latest club announcements before leaving. The weather section below summarizes the club’s April 16, 2024 reminder and links to the original post.

Policies & family resources.

Weather & field closures

Published

The club’s weather reminder identifies three reasons to stop or cancel play: lightning, rain heavy enough to make play dangerous, and field conditions that require play to stop. Lightning initially causes a delay; repeated strikes can lead to cancellation.

Your coach communicates individual team cancellations. Club-wide field closures are announced on BUSC’s Facebook page. The club’s post says decisions are generally made later in the afternoon unless conditions are already severe.

Before leaving, check your team’s PlayMetrics messages and the latest club announcements. Follow the instructions from your coach and match officials.

Respect for referees

Published

BUSC states that it has zero tolerance for referee abuse. Its announcement explains that U.S. Soccer’s Referee Abuse Policy applies to players, coaches, and spectators.

Keep the players at the center of the game and treat match officials respectfully. Read the original club announcement and its linked video for the policy context.

Player safety & parent education

Published

Keeping young players safe takes a shared effort. In its parent resource post, BUSC encourages families to learn how they can help prevent abuse and points parents to education from the U.S. Center for SafeSport.

Use the club’s original post as the starting point for these parent resources.
